And On The Seventh Day He Rested

We observing a day of rest at the Dead Sea.  It is about 2:00 PM here (6:00 AM in Oklahoma).  Our guide, David, is back in Jerusalem observing the Sabbath.  Tomorrow our pilgrimage will resume.  Everyone is okay.  We are enduring the most intense heat we have ever witnessed.

Later we will be posting some longer videos, using Vimeo, rather than YouTube.  They will be embedded in this posting, as well as the daily posting for the day that it occurred. These are some of best videos.

Communion At The Tomb (6/23/11)

What a holy time ... Communion in at the Tomb. And the birds singing along with you. We remember our time there, how special, it was one of our favorite places to visit ... but then again they were all favorite places! Did the garden look as you suspected? Not the look of a garden in Okla. but one of the most well known gardens of all time. I am reading from the intro to these pictures that the heat is difficult. Praying that you will be mindful to take care. There is so much to see and take in and we know you wouldn't want to miss any of it. May our Father give you protection from the heat as you learn more about the places Jesus walked and the lessons He taught. God bless you all. <>< Jere Litchenburg

The Dead Sea ... what a stark difference from the area of Jerusalem. A Sea that is kind of greenish ... and to think that little or no life can be sustained in it. The surroundings are also in sharp contrast to the areas in northern Israel ... rocky, salty mountains/hills, rough and desolate. For those who lived or traveled this southern part of the country, life would surely have been very hard and what a treat for them to go to the city of Jerusalem on the holy days to take part with others. May you continue to learn more every day, and bring back those lessons in your heart! God bless you all. <>< Jere Litchenburg
